Two very early moulded bottles, pre-dating the Rickets' patent of 1821 and almost identical in shape and form. The left hand bottle belonged to Sir Henry Carew of Haccombe (1779-1830), was the 7th baronet and the son of Thomas Carew 6th baronet. He matriculated at Trinity College, Oxford in 1797 aged 18. He married Elizabeth Palk in 1806 and died Oct 1830. The right hand bottle belonged to Henry Joseph Holdsworth. He was born in 1785 into the extensive Holdsworth family of Dartmouth. They were merchant adventurers carrying out an extensive trade provisioning the fishing fleets in Newfoundland. Henry also ran the Dartmouth General Bank in partnership with Joseph Hine.
