Paul collects west country sealed bottles and has noticed that a number of the seals are very similar in lettering style which leads him to believe that the seal dies were engraved in the same workshop and probably most of them by the same person. Here are a selection of the seals he has gathered so far with some contributed by other club members. Paul is currently plotting these seals on a map and trying to find out as much as he can about them.
I Arnold - Clearly Plymouth. Straight cylinder. No history but it'll be straightforward to track, I believe.
M Lee - again a squat cylinder, 1768. Ebford is near Exeter, about 10 miles West of Branscombe, South Devon.
Thos Holdsworth Dartmouth is a Bladder onion, difficult to date but circa 1750-60 judging by the string rim. A fairly well-known Dartmouth (and wider West Country) family
