This wine bottle belonged to James Etty who was a wine merchant in Oxford in the latter part of the 18th century. He died in 1783 at the age of 60 after a lingering illness. He supplied several of the Oxford colleges with wine. There another of his bottles in the Ashmolean Museum and several detached seals. |
