A sealed onion bottle recently sold at auction in the UK. The seal bears the crest of Carew of Haccombe. This seal is well known on later cylindrical bottles which belonged to the Pole-Carews of Antony, Cornwall but the engraving of the seal on this early bottle is far superior. |
