The bottle dates from about 1760 and was probably manufactured in Stourbridge at the Dennis Glass House.

Nice antique, black glass, sealed wine bottle, dates to about 1840, of cylindrical shape.  The seal is ASCR or A. S. C. R. for All Souls Common Room, All Souls College, Oxford UK.   This is a nice early three part moulded, bottle with a good, rough basal pontil mark on a shallow base and a hand finished string rim.  This is not a Ricketts' bottle. Most of the Oxford college bottles were made in Stourbridge near Birmingham. The bottle is cellar found with full surface gloss.  The height of the bottle is 28 cm. The bottle has a very crude and sharp pontil mark, lots of glass adhering.
