Update from the Garshall Green site.

Winston Hollins has sent more photographs, this time of a glass handle which was found on the site.  The glass is not the same colour as the bottle seal which was found earlier but is very black.  The members of the dig have never found glass handles from this period before, and many of them have more than 30 years of digging experience.  The house was built about 1680 and abandoned about 1730. Does anyone have any idea what sort of vessel this might have belonged to?

The photograph below was sent by Paul Cannon of the Newbury Museum.  It is of a detached seal recently excavated in London.  The seal reads * Iohn Sidgwick* around a coat of arms.  The shape of the attached glass suggests an onion bottle.
